A simple start...

.... and no better time then the present.
I have been struggling with my "blog start".
I must appear profound....
I must appear literate....
purposeful....
clever....
witty....
worthy of contributing to the world around me...
But, I must!!!

PSHAW!!!!!

I am simply a "Maker of Stuff".
Primarily the stuff I make is made of yarn or textiles.
Currently I hold duty as designer and consultant for Mission Falls as well as design contributor to books and publications including Vogue Knitting & Interweave Knits.
I guess I chose today to "get off the pot" because yesterday my book Folk Style debuted on Amazon.com-- as well as bookstores and yarn shops across the US.
It's my first ISBN.... and I am quite proud of it.

Mags! I can't believe that I get to be the first one to post on your site! You should have told us that you were starting one! Okay enough with the exclamations already. I've already linked our blog with yours. You forgot to identify yourself as a knitting-altruist (knaltruist?).

But am I the only person who doesn't know what wabi sabi means? Should I be checking out wikipedia?

Looking forward to seeing you at Creativ! (okay one last exclamation).

Take care,

Anita

I am very glad to work in a bookstore and I purchased the book as soon as it was unpacked from the boxes in the receiving department!

I also am a painter...of primitive folk art...I used to wholesale my work before I found myself needing benefits and the stuff that "regular" jobs offer. But I never called myself an artist...I was a "painter of stuff"! Sooo..I had to laugh and related well when I read your "maker of stuff" comment!

Your work is delightful!!!
